Photographer and makeup artist for almost two decades, although it was not necessarily a choice in the first place, life brought me to the world of beauty and portraiture. 

I remember when I was a child I used to see my aunts putting on makeup to go to work and they were totally transformed, with just a few minutes spent in front of a small bathroom vanity mirror that I remember with a pale yellow plastic frame. This happened around the early nineties and that shocked me a lot as a child when I saw the illusion that the use of makeup generated in their faces.

After having emigrated from Mexico to the USA with only 21 years old in 2001 and with many dreams it was not an easy task, a few days later I would find work as a waiter in a renowned hotel in the city of Dallas, Texas and in turn a second job as an assistant to kitchen. For me and for many of my Latino people, leaving behind academic achievements, and especially the family nucleus, would be the most difficult thing. But my joy at having found a job would not last long as I was completely unemployed and without money.

But it was not until later that at the beginning of 2002 the magic of makeup and photography would return to my life because I would be unemployed and with multiple needs and hunger for success, without knowing where to start I would tell my need for a job to the person who He cut my hair at that time and later on he suggested and invited me to work in his salon as his assistant stylist in a new world that I did not know. So I started in the practice of which without knowing and not even imagining it would be my new profession in a new world that would make me remember my aunts putting on makeup in front of the bathroom vanity.

Without English or money, I dedicated myself fully and with a lot of discipline to learn the art of transforming through styling and makeup and shortly afterwards to document with a small Olympus camera some of the transformations that I made in the people who lent themselves to my adventure to be my models.

From that time until today with the help of God and discipline I would become a stylist-makeup artist and later a professional photographer.

The arts always caught my attention but I never imagined that I would choose these three professions that today I treasure with great passion and affection, so every time a client comes to my studio I think about transforming their dreams and that they last in time through photography.

Fotografo y maquillista  por casi  dos décadas, aunque no fue necesariamente en primera instancia una elección la vida me trajo al mundo de la belleza y el retrato. 

Recuerdo que cuando era niño solía ver a mis tias maquillándose para ir a sus trabajos y quedaban totalmente transformadas,  con tan solo unos cuantos minutos que dedicaban frente a un espejo pequeño del tocador de baño que recuerdo de marco de plástico en tono amarillo pálido. Esto pasó alrededor de  principios de los noventas y eso me impacto mucho de niño al ver la ilusión que generaban en sus rostros el uso del maquillaje. 

Tras haber emigrado de Mexico a USA con tan solo 21 anos de edad y con muchos sueños no fue tarea fácil, a los pocos días encontraría trabajo  como mesero en un hotel de renombre de la ciudad de Dallas, Texas y a su vez un segundo trabajo de ayudante de cocina. Para mí y para muchos de mi gente latina dejar atrás logros académicos, y sobre todo el núcleo familiar sería lo más difícil. Pero mi alegría de haber encontrado un trabajo no duraría mucho al quedarme completamente sin empleo y sin dinero. 

Pero no fue hasta después que a principios del 2002 regresaria a mi vida la magia del maquillaje y la fotografía porque me quedaría sin empleo y con multiples necesidades y hambre de éxito, sin saber por donde empezar le contaría mi necesidad de empleo a la persona que me cortaba el cabello en ese tiempo y mas tarde me sugiriera y me invitaría a trabajar en su salon como su ayudante de estilista en un mundo nuevo que no conocía. Así empecé en la practica de la que sin saber y ni siquiera imaginarme seria mi nueva profesión en un mundo nuevo  que me haría recordar a mis tias maquillándose frente al tocador de baño. 

Sin inglés ni dinero me dedique de lleno y con mucha disciplina aprender el arte de transformar por medio del estilismo y el maquillaje y al poco tiempo a documentar con una cámara pequeña  Olympus algunas de las transformaciones que hacia en las personas que se prestaron a mi aventura de ser mis modelos. 

Desde ese tiempo y hasta el día de hoy con ayuda de Dios y disciplina me convertiría en estilista-maquillista y más tarde en fotógrafo profesional. 

Las artes siempre me llamaron la atención pero nunca me imaginé que elegiría estas tres profesiones que el día de hoy atesoro con gran pasión y cariño, así que cada vez cada vez que un cliente llega a mi estudio pienso en transformar sus sueños y que perduren en el tiempo por medio de la fotografía.
